A walking retreat in a hidden gem of Spain: the Matarraña. Discover this special area at the foot of the impressive Puertos de Beceite mountain range. During your hikes, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking nature, ranging from mountains and forests to vast olive groves and soothing, babbling rivers.

The central theme of this retreat is walking in silence. By being silent in nature, you create distance from the daily hustle and bustle. This not only brings peace but also opens up space for new insights and a clear mind.

Spending a few days in nature not only moves your body but also your mind. The combination of walking and the calming environment of nature provides the perfect opportunity for self-reflection and finding inner balance.

During this walking retreat, you’ll have the chance to relax and reconnect with yourself. At the same time, you’ll enjoy the beautiful, unspoiled landscape of the Matarraña, which invites inspiration and renewed energy.

What can you expect?

During this walking retreat, you can count on the following aspects that contribute to a valuable experience.

Hikes

The hikes vary in distance and duration, with an average of about 10-15 km per day. On some routes, we go quite deep into the mountains, so it is important to have a good level of fitness.

Accomodation

You will stay in one of our luxury tents on the property, furnished with comfortable mattresses and blankets. There is a hot outdoor shower on the premises, and a clean and comfortable compost toilet is available for use.

Food

Each day, three vegan or vegetarian meals are provided. Snacks are available for the hikes. Have specific dietary preferences? Feel free to contact us!

Free time

In addition to the program, there is plenty of time to relax and engage in personal activities, such as meditation, stretching, yoga, reading, writing, swimming, or exploring the beautiful surroundings.

Support

To support your personal development and inner reflection, coaching sessions are offered.

Additional activities

As part of the retreat, all participants are offered a relaxation massage. Additional massages can be booked for an extra fee.

The program

The walking retreat begins on the first day at 3:00 PM with a shared snack and the opportunity to meet each other. A free pick-up service is available in Tortosa at 1:30 PM.

Around 4:00 PM, there will be an introduction, where the retreat program will be explained. Following that, we will embark on our first hike.

Each day, you will go for a hike through nature. Some hikes start directly from Naserena, while for others, you will be driven to the starting point. The distances and duration vary, but on average, you will walk 10-15 km per day. Some routes will take you into the mountains, so a good level of fitness is important. The hikes last about half a day, leaving plenty of free time to relax or engage in personal activities.

On the last day, the retreat ends after breakfast. It is often possible to book an extra night before or after the retreat by arrangement.

Hi! My name is Anna. I am an experienced psychologist and an avid hiker with a deep passion for nature and personal growth. In 2021, I completed the impressive Camino to Santiago de Compostela, a one-and-a-half-month pilgrimage that brought me even closer to my love for hiking. In addition to this special journey, I have a lot of experience with multi-day treks through mountainous areas, where my knowledge of nature, peace, and physical challenge come together.

For many years, I worked in mental health care (GGZ) in the Netherlands as a psychologist. With this background, I now guide people during walking retreats, where I combine hiking with reflection and inner balance. With a warm, professional approach, I help participants not only physically but also mentally embark on their journey and find depth in the experience.
