Since the land is surrounded by beautiful nature, it didn’t take us very long to find something new to discover. Beceite is very close to Naserena and lies at the foot of the “Puertas de Beceite” (meaning: Gate of Beceite) where you can find beautiful walking trails. One of these trails is the “Ruta del Parrizal”.
We have found this one by accident. We were actually looking for places to swim, unfortunately this is not allowed on this route since the water is used as drinking water for the nearby towns. The entrance was €5 per person (€4 online and €2 if you stay at a hotel in the area). So we decided to take a nice walk instead. The trail is about 8km and took us about 1,5 to 2 hours to get to the end of the “Ruta del Parrizal”. In total it will take about 3 to 4 hours depending on the breaks that you take.
The route is trough the canyon, following the line of the Matarraña river. It has a difference in altitude of 470 meters but overall the route was quite easy to walk. Pets are not allowed but for children it might be a fun route as well as a lot of the route is over wooden decks which was quite fun to do.
We came across a couple of other people on the route but we can imagine that in summertime this is a very busy route which makes it less comfortable and calm to walk here. Nevertheless outside of the busy season this is a beautiful walk to do if you ever decide to be in the neighbourhood.
