WELCOME TO THE NASERENA PROJECT

Hi! We're Marcel and Anna

Together, we’ve started project Naserena, which is driven to live sustainably and regeneratively based on Permaculture and Syntropic Agroforestry principles.

The project operates under a non-profit foundation. We volunteer all our time to the Foundation. All revenue and income from services and donations are used to maintain the project, allowing it to fulfill its goals of environmental restoration and education.

The project is located in a quiet little valley in la Fresneda (Teruel, Aragon, Spain). It was this stillness and natural serenity which conveyed to the name Naserena. A place where we can live in harmony with nature. Simple, sustainable and even regenerative. The property is a valley of 11 hectares that is surrounded by forest. We fell in love with the serenity that is present on the land as well as the large ruïn that is on it.

Having left the Netherlands individually in pursuit of a more fulfilling life, we found what we were looking for while volunteering on various projects abroad. It was during one of these endeavors in Spain that our paths crossed, eventually leading us to the decision to start our own project.

Through our personal experiences, we came to realize the extent to which humanity has become disconnected from nature and themselves. Being part of a project like ours, we aim to reconnect people with nature and themselves, thus aiding the environment and reducing our ecological footprint.

Hence, everything we do is centered around collaborating with and learning from nature.

Why the Naserena Project?

The Naserena Project is both a creative platform and a physical space in Spain, serving as the heart of the foundation. It’s a place to bring people together, plant trees, educate, and deepen our connection with nature.

The Naserena Project serves as a foundation for the organization and provides a creative platform where ideas come to life. Nestled in a peaceful, natural environment, it offers a place for volunteers, students, retreat guests, and visitors to stay and connect with nature. Here, people work together to realize sustainable initiatives, such as soil restoration, tree planting, and promoting biodiversity.

Beyond being a place to stay, the project brings nature and community together. Visitors contribute to a dynamic whole where collaboration and experimentation take center stage. In this way, Naserena evolves into an inspiring environment where both people and nature can grow and thrive.

“Marcel and Anna, two lovely people who make you feel welcome at their beautiful location. A fertile riverbed with beautiful fields in a quiet environment where you can only hear the sounds of nature.”
