BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Get ready for a new experience!

We have chosen to open up this beautiful place for a select number of people to come and join us. This gives you the opportunity to stay at Naserena for longer period of time, while experiencing life as one of its local members. We like to offer a safe and loving environment where one is free to be themselves, while contributing their energy, ideas and presence to the visions unfolding.

We like the people that join our lifestyle to be able to contribute on the projects that give them inspiration and energy. Every person is different and therefore has different needs. The most important thing is to do the things you like to do. We only ask for a couple of hours of contribution per day. In practice we see that people love to help out more, just because it is not ‘work’ but something they like to do.

In the end there is something to do for anyone. We are not all builders but we all have our own skillset and interest. It might also be that you don’t have a certain skillset but you do have an interest and a willingness to learn. In that case there is always loads to learn and explore. We believe in giving people opportunities to learn and grow, as well as utilise past experience and present creativity to reach their goals or make a difference.

What does your day look like?

The life we live is very relaxed, with a lot of freedom to be who you are with a focus on personal development. However; Although it often feels like it… this is not a holiday. We do ask you to help out a couple of hours every day, mainly because you want to. We do like the project to evolve a little bit more every day.

The things that need to be done vary per moment but there is always something you can contribute in, whether this is cooking, cleaning, building, gardening, painting or making the place even more beautiful, all help is welcome and often needed. We strive to have some fun and doing the things we like to do and/or are inspired by. Also this may vary per day. One day you might like to be in the garden and the next day in the kitchen or in the field. No problem!

Don’t worry! We are very relaxed. You are welcome to contribute whenever you feel your energy allows this, so no getting up at dawn unless you want to. Just go with the flow. You’ll see that a couple of hours a day is nothing when you do something you like to do.

Every day we hear you say? What about free time? Well, for starters it is only a couple of hours a day so you won’t lack any free time that’s for sure. But we can imagine some days you will have more energy than others or that you wish to visit one of the beautiful places around. We can also imagine that some days you’re totally into what you’re doing, just because it is so much fun that you’ll make loads of hours. If it is balanced throughout then there is no better outcome and everyone is happy.

Food

We value good and healthy food, it is the fuel that keeps our engine running. We’re therefore constantly working on the garden in order to get most out of it. Depending on the season and the state of the garden we may buy some food from the locals.

We eat together as a group. We cook mainly vegetarian food which should be conclusive for most people. We do ask for flexibility in this regard, meaning we cannot accommodate each specific food preference. For specific health issues, of course, exceptions can be made. Please ask about this in advance.

We either have a dedicated cook (someone who is passionate about cooking) or we cook by rotation.

Accommodation

We believe that a goodnight sleep is crucial. You’ll need your energy to flow in order to work on yourself and to help us out. The silence and serenity is provided by nature. The lodging is provided by us.

Unfortunately the big house is not nearly finished so we will provide some different type of lodging. Depending on the type lodge we do ask for a contribution. In return you will stay in a lovely place, equipped with a good mattress, pillows, blankets, sheets, towels, etc.

The type of lodge is up to you. We have various types. Some of them are free, others come with a contribution. This means that there is a place for everyone.

Shower

A good shower at the end of a day is worth gold. We’ve created a beautiful and comfortable indoor shower. If you’re a bit more adventurous we also have a cool outdoor shower. The water used for showering is captured, filtered and re-used for the garden.

We will provide shampoo and soap for you. You may bring your own but only if it is 100% natural and biological degradable.

If you wish to save some water, let’s go swimming in our pool or at one of the beautiful locations in the area.

Toilet

We value privacy and comfort in regards to the toilet. We therefore have a very nice clean luxury indoor compost toilet. A compost toilet (or dry toilet) won’t flush with our precious water, instead we use sawdust to cover up. We separate the urine which prevents the toilet from smelling bad. The humanure is left for a couple of years, after that it is fully composted and ready to be used as a natural fertiliser on the land.

We’ll provide the toilet paper, which is again based on recycled material without perfumes.

A vegetarian cook (m/f)

Are you a passionate vegetarian cook who loves working with fresh, organic ingredients straight from the garden? We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating delicious, nourishing meals using seasonal produce while embracing a simple, sustainable lifestyle in nature. If you love cooking for a small community, experimenting with flavors, and sharing good food in a beautiful setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Join us

To keep our project running and thriving, we need your support. As we’re still working towards financial stability, we ask for a mandatory donation of €10 per day to our foundation. This contribution covers the essentials like healthy vegetarian meals, water, electricity, gas, toilet paper, organic soap, accommodation, and more. Most importantly, your donation helps us continue the vital work we’re doing and ensures the foundation stays alive, allowing us to grow and offer more opportunities to people like you.

We receive many applications and have limited spots available, so it’s essential for us to carefully select the right people to join our community. We kindly ask you to read all the information thoroughly before applying and provide as much detailed and enthusiastic information as possible. This will help us understand who you are, why you want to join us, and how we can reach you. By doing this, we can ensure that everyone who joins us shares our mission and values. Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll get in touch with you as soon as possible. Your support is truly vital to the success of this project, and we look forward to hearing from you!
