Naserena Foundation is a non-profit organization tied to the ecological project of the same name in Spain, driven to live sustainably and regeneratively based on Permaculture and Syntropic Agroforestry principles.
WELCOME TO THE NASERENA FOUNDATION
Why the Naserena Foundation?
By living in and with nature ourselves, and coming into contact with people who have been consciously engaged with this lifestyle for a long time, we are becoming increasingly aware of how much our way of life impacts nature.
The enormous amount of waste we produce daily per person, the ease with which we turn on the lights, flush the toilet with drinking water, take long showers, or buy processed food from the supermarket that comes from all corners of the world. These are just a few examples that show how luxury and convenience gradually alienate us from nature.
”We have completely lost our connection with nature, and the consequences of this are noticeable to everyone.
We have grown up in a throwaway culture where the impact of our actions on nature has faded from view. Everything must be quick, efficient, and cheap to meet our needs with minimal effort. This process has been ongoing for some time, and in our parents’ generation, there is a growing awareness of the enormous impact this has on nature. However, in a large part of the current generation, this awareness is further away than ever.
As a foundation, our mission is to help make people aware of their influence on nature. We aim to bring people together and offer them a new way of thinking through practical experiences. This way, they can make better-informed choices and learn to work together on the restoration of nature and the bond between humans and nature.
Where do we go from here?
Our personal transformation through living in nature has convinced us that such a way of life can also be effective for others.
By offering people an opportunity to take a break from their current environment and introducing them to life in nature in a practical way, we believe that can help them become more aware of their own influence on and connection with nature.
We hope for the support of the current and previous generations to jointly offer future generations a new direction.
How are we going to approach this?
We want to offer as many people as possible the same experience that started it all for us: hands-on involvement in a project in nature to discover firsthand how things can be different. We believe this is the best way to create awareness.
Many visitors have already spent short or extended periods working on the project, contributing to daily tasks and learning a lot about what sustainable and regenerative living concretely means.
We also organize workshops and retreats around these themes to reach larger groups of people.
Meet the board
Stichting Naserena is a non-profit organisation. The board members volunteer all their time to the Foundation and do not receive any compensation for their work. However, they are entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred in the performance of their duties and to a reasonable allowance for meetings.
We volunteer all our time to the Foundation. All revenue and income from services and donations are used to maintain the project, allowing it to fulfill its goals of environmental restoration and education.
“I think of the love and energy Anna and Marcel pour into their off grid project. The risks they dare to take everyday to bring this dream to life, the generosity to share it with others.”
AnnemarieFriend of the foundation

Hello, my name is Anna, and I am the president of Stichting Naserena.
Together with my partner, Marcel, I founded Stichting Naserena in April 2024, driven by our deep passion for nature and personal growth. Through my work with the foundation, I cultivate the land, care for the garden, and guide individuals during nature retreats.
Over the years, through our own experiences of living closely with nature, we realized how disconnected many people have become from it. As a result, fewer and fewer people experience the healing effects that a natural environment can offer. At the same time, human activity is causing increasing harm to nature.
Our wish is to help people recognize that we are an integral part of nature, and that caring for and protecting it is essential—not just for the environment, but for our own well-being and vitality. Through our foundation, we hope to reconnect people with nature and with each other while preserving and supporting the natural world as it is. Sustainability, regeneration, and connection are at the heart of our mission.
If you would like to contribute, we warmly invite you to support our cause by becoming a friend of the foundation.

Hi, my name is Marcel. I am the secretary and treasurer of Stichting Naserena. Together with Anna, we founded the foundation to raise awareness about our impact on nature while actively contributing to its well-being. We plant trees, follow permaculture and syntropic agriculture principles, and use only organic methods. Recently, we planted our first food forest, create our own compost, work with compost worms, and focus on maintaining natural cycles of life.
We’re also creating a space where people can connect with nature, experience sustainable living, and reflect on their daily habits, from water and energy use to waste and food consumption. The foundation welcomes volunteers, offers retreats, and hosts workshops to inspire mindful living. To support our mission, consider becoming a friend of the foundation!
